The Aquarium Take Two

I had so much fun taking the kids to the aquarium, that I wanted Brad to come with us, so today we went into Seattle to the aquarium. It was so hot outside that it was nice to be inside. When we first got there a scuba diver was in the big main tank feeding the fish and talking about them. Alex loves scuba divers, so we watched the "show". Afterwards we went to the touch tanks, which is Sierra's favorite part. Then we saw the jelly fish, octopus, sea horses and a few hundred other kinds of fish. We went into the fish dome where the really big fish and a few sharks are and they were having another "show"/feeding with two scuba divers! Then we went to see the harbor seals, they were fascinated with Sierra, the kept following her and watching her, it was so cool! We also saw the sea otters being feed and the fur seal being feed. Seeing all of those feeding is pretty rare because they don't have a schedule, they like to mix it up for the animals, so no two feedings are at the same time. We had a great time and the kids were awesome!

Company BBQ and G-Force

Today we went to Brad's company BBQ. I love his company parties!!! They are always so much fun, I really mean that. This year it was held at a huge park on the lake in Issaquah, WA. It had a playground, two sand volleyball courts, a boat launch, a beach with lifeguards, and tube slides into the lake and a huge amount of grass. It was a beautiful day out for a BBQ. Sierra and Alex played on the playground. Sierra loved the slides and Alex loved the swings. We had a great lunch, the company always goes all out for food: hot dogs, hamburgers, ribs, salads, veggies, fruit, soda, beer, wine, ice cream! After lunch and ice cream, Alex got his arm painted (the lady that did the face/arm painting was awesome) and the kids played in the bouncy house. Right before we left Alex and Brad were in a water balloon contest and Alex soaked Brad!! It was so much fun to watch. We had to leave so Sierra could take a nap. So I took Sierra home for a nap and Brad took Alex to see G-Force in 3D. They said it was great and loved the 3D.
Sierra wasn't so sure about the bouncy house at first so she bounced on the outside, while
Alex bounced in the inside.
Alex's Dragon "Tattoo"
Sierra finally got in the bouncy house and loved it. She had no fear and
was taking on the big kids in no time!

Happy 5th Birthday Alex!!!!

Happy Birthday Alex!! I can't believe my baby is 5 already. I know everyone says it, but it is so true, "When did it happen, I blinked and he grew up!" I was so scared when we first had him, I had never held anyone so small before. He was only 5lbs 12oz and 19 inches long. He was so tiny and cute, but scary as hell!! Alex taught us so much about ourselves and what Brad and I could really do as a team. Watching him grow up is such an honor and knowing that I am helping make him who he is, is just amazing. He is so intelligent and creative, sincere and loving, funny and cute. He is so much fun to have and I am so proud that he is my son! I love you Alex!!

Alex and Friends

This year Alex asked to have a few friends over to the house for a Transformers birthday party. He asked everyone to bring a bike/scooter and a helmet (he was very specific about the helmet, lol) and come play at the house. I planned the party during Sierra's nap, so that it could be just about Alex, and we would not have to worry about Sierra playing in the street with the big kids. The weather was great and we all had so much fun! Anthony, Ben, Matthew and Matty were able to come, so we had 5 boys for Alex's 5th birthday, it was perfect! They rode bikes and scooters, had snacks, played pin the symbol on the transformer, had cake and otter pops and opened presents/gift bags. Alex said that this was the best birthday party EVER!!!! He got a bunch of transformers action figures (with no duplicates!), a new nerf sword, a Bumble Bee Transformer costume and some fun stickers.

Alex "transformed" LOL!!!!

Alex's Family Party

We decided to have a family party for Alex before Ted has to leave for Utah. So tonight we had the party. Alex asked for fish sticks, popcorn shrimp, rice and salad for dinner. He asked Sydney to come over for dinner, dessert and presents. And the rest of her family, Jean, Ray and Haley to come over after dinner for dessert and presents.
Alex said dinner was great and just what he wanted. After dinner he went with Brad to go and get the ice cream I forgot :) Oops! Alex was so sweet at the store he asked Brad if he could buy me some flowers and Sydney a flower. So he went and smelled about 5 different rose bouquets until he found one that smelled great and got it for me. Then he picked out a single red rose for Sydney. He brought them home for us, he is so awesome!!
When they got back Alex open his presents; he got some great presents! Sierra gave him a new bike helmet and kick stand. Ted gave him Ben 10 action figures. Brad and I gave him a huge Optomus Prime transformer and the Ben 10 game he asked for. Sydney spoiled him rotten, I think, she gave him a bumble bee transformer poster, werewolf gloves, skull gloves, a knight costume and $5 (because he is 5). He loved all of his gifts!
After dinner we decorated sugar cookies (that I baked the night before in a 90 degree kitchen, I must really love him!) and had ice cream.

Alex said that it was an awesome family party!!!

The Aquarium

Ted's other request before he left was to go to the aquarium. So today I took Ted, Alex, Sierra and our friend Sydney. We wandered around the aquarium all morning, it was a great day for it! After we were done we got some snow cones and headed home.
