Silver Lake

We asked Ted what he wanted to do before he left for Utah and he really wanted to go to the beach. So we packed up the car and drove 10 minutes to a Silver Lake, a beautiful lake with sandy beaches, life guards, grass, and a playground! We love it here.

Like Brother Like Sister???

Sierra saw her princess dress and wanted to dress up in it. (I think she got the idea from Alex.)

She is such a little poser!

Happy 4th of July

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July!! We had a very nice and relaxing day. We just hung out around the house trying to stay cool. Then after naps we went over to one of our neighbors, Jean and Ray, and had a BBQ. After we were done with dinner we visited with them and waited for the rest of their family to come over and start the fireworks. Sierra actually went to bed at 8:30pm and slept through the whole neighborhood lighting off really loud fireworks the whole night. The kids were able to play with some sparklers and watch the adults light off some really cool fireworks. Alex ended up going inside because the fireworks were too loud for him, so I came inside with him and we watched them from the window. Brad and Ted came in around 11pm and we put the boys to bed. It was a great 4th of July.

Brad's 30th Birthday Party

Today we went over to Shari and Garrison's house to hang out for Brad's birthday. Shari made lasagna, garlic bread and salad for lunch. And I made Brad's favorite cake, strawberry jello cake with fresh strawberries and cool whip. We were able to visit with Shari and Garrison, while Sierra played with Devin, Alex played with Matthew and Ted played with Nick! It was so nice. Brad took Sierra home for a nap (and probably took a nap himself) and I stayed at Shari's with Ted and Alex. Alex and his friends played in the sprinklers, Ted and Nick went to the community pool and I stayed and visited with Shari, Karen (Shari's sister), and Tim (Karen's friend). Brad came back after Sierra's nap and we had a quick dinner and everyone went down to the pool to play. Ted and Nick were able to go down to the deep end and the diving boards. Alex was able to play at the shallow end of the big pool and we got Sierra into the pool. She didn't like the pool a whole lot, but she
LOVED the water slide!!! I would set her on it and help her slide down the last few feet and drop her into Brad's arms, she loved it. After the pool closed we went back to Shari's house and put Sierra down to bed in a port-a-crib. We let Alex stay up and play until he wanted to go to bed at 10:30pm (he ended up falling asleep on the couch in the playroom while watching tv). Ted stayed up and played cards with all of us; Brad, Shari, Karen, Lee (Karen's husband), Nick and me. At midnight we had Ted go to sleep in another room (he was so excited to stay up soooooo late) and the rest of us played Apples to Apples (Garrison joined us when he got home from work) until 1:30am!! We packed up the car, loaded up all the kids and came home, put the kids into their beds and went straight to bed!! Brad and I were exhausted!!!! Happy 30th!!!!

New Slide

We bought a little play cube/slide from my friend Tina and she also brought Sierra a little scoot car to play on. I think she and all the kids are liking it....
